The Regulation Club — About
About

The woman behind the method.

I'm Emma Cook, a dietitian and strength and conditioning coach who spent a decade in the industry watching high-performing women get fragmented advice, half-rebuilt, and sent on their way. I built The Regulation Club because someone had to put the pieces back together.

Emma Cook, founder of The Regulation Club

I built this because I lived it.

I spent my twenties in survival mode. High-achiever. Perfectionist. People-pleaser. I controlled everything I could: my body, my training, my career. Outside of that, very little felt safe.

By twenty-six, the strategy had stopped working. I was waking at 3am, jaw clenched, drenched. My cycle had gone silent. My hormones were in freefall. I was training five to six days a week; I was strong, I was eating "clean," but I was puffy, inflamed, with a distended gut and stubborn body fat that wouldn't budge. And above all, more depleted than I'd ever been. I had a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Dietetic Medicine, and a personal training certification, and I was the most dysregulated person in any room I walked into.

When I finally tried to get help, every professional treated one piece in isolation. My trainer wanted me to train harder. The nutritionist wanted me to eat cleaner. The doctor offered medication for the anxiety. Nobody asked why a twenty-six-year-old with a Masters in nutrition was systemically falling apart.

So I stopped looking for help and started building the model myself.

I read everything I could find on the nervous system, on stress physiology, on the gut-brain axis, on hormonal cycling. I tested it on myself, methodically, the way I'd been trained to. I rebuilt my sleep first. Then my stress response. Then my nutrition. Then training. In that order. Within six months I felt like a different human. Within eighteen, I was running a thriving business, sleeping eight hours, training four times a week, and lifting more than I ever had. My cycle was regular (even with PCOS), my gut issues had cleared up, and I felt more confident in my skin than ever before.

What I learned, in retrospect, is that there's a missing layer underneath every program in this industry. The trainers don't see it. The nutritionists don't see it. Most doctors don't see it. It's metabolic regulation and consistency behind the behaviours that support it. And until you fix it, no diet or training program will produce sustained results. That is exactly what hundreds of my clients had been experiencing before they found me.

The Regulation Club is the system I built for myself, refined over ten years and hundreds of clients, and now offered to the women who need it most.

The women I work with.

I built The Regulation Club for a specific kind of woman.

She runs a business, or leads a team, or holds a senior role with real responsibility. She has built outward success: career, family, the right postcode. Privately, she is running on fumes. She trains five or six days a week, eats whole foods, takes the supplements, and has nothing to show for it on the scale, in the mirror, or in her energy levels.

She has seen a GP, a nutritionist, a personal trainer, and probably a psychologist. None of them looked at her as one connected system. So she is left with five disconnected protocols and no idea why she still feels broken.

She is self-aware enough to know she needs something different. But she does not want to be told to slow down, take time off, or "listen to her body." She wants to perform at a higher level, and she suspects, correctly, that the path to that runs through her health, not around it.

If that's you, you're in the right place.

I don't work with clients seeking clinical eating disorder treatment, acute mental health support, or purely aesthetic outcomes. If that's where you are, I can point you to the right help — just send me an email.

Regulation first. Performance second.

Most coaches and dietitians stack interventions: harder training, cleaner food, more supplements, better discipline. For a high-functioning woman whose nervous system is already running hot, that approach doesn't deliver results. It accelerates the collapse.

The Regulation Club starts at a different layer.

We rebuild your nervous system, your sleep, your basic fuelling, and your daily rhythm first, because none of the things on top of those (body composition, performance, energy, libido, mental clarity) hold if the foundation is dysregulated. Once the foundation is solid, performance is the natural consequence, not the goal you chase.

Regulation before optimisation.

It runs over sixteen weeks, in three phases (Restore, Build, and an optional Excel), with structured group coaching, async feedback, and a library of protocols you can run again any time you need to recalibrate.

How I live now.

A short snapshot of the woman behind the method. The method is built on these.
  • I sleep eight hours, every night, without compromise (even with a toddler)
  • I lift three to four days a week, heavy, with intent & get results
  • I walk every morning before opening my laptop
  • I take one to two days a week completely off training, and perform better than ever
  • I eat three real meals, on a rhythm, without counting
  • Coupled with nourishing snacks that keep me full & fuel my micronutrients
  • I work in 90-minute focus blocks, never longer
  • I batch my calls into two days a week & have mastered my schedule even in motherhood
  • I'm in bed by 8:30pm, asleep by 9pm
  • I don't drink caffeine after 11am
  • I run my business, support my family, achieve my personal goals and serve clients globally
None of this was true at twenty-six. All of it was built. So can yours be.

If any of this lands.

There are two ways to work with me.

If you're ready for the full system (the sixteen-week coaching program, group calls, async feedback, the works), book a discovery call. It's a short, no-pressure conversation about what's going on and whether the program is the right fit.

If you want a smaller, faster win on one specific area (sleep, stress, or inflammation), the 3-Week Kickstarters are self-paced, $29, and instant access.

Your health is the engine that fuels everything else you want in life.
